FAQ:

Can You Provide References?
Absolutely! We have restored a countless number of homes and business in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We have residential and commercial references available upon request or check out our portfolio.
What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards; American Express, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. Learn about our financing options here!
Do You Offer a Warranty on the Roof?
Not all contractors can offer manufacturer warranties that include coverage of the contractor’s workmanship. If a contractor installs the roof incorrectly, it may take months or years for the damage to show up—and insurance won’t pay for it. If the contractor won’t fix it (or worse, has gone out of business), your only recourse is to pay for their mistake yourself.

Here at ProTex Roof Systems, we work with a number of manufacturers to offer our customers not only multiple material options but also extended manufacturer warranties other contractors just cannot provide. We are currently authorized to offer extended roofing warranties from Atlas Roofing.

What is a Deductible?
An Insurance Deductible is simply the amount of money that the insured is required to pay, for repair to damage, under the insurance policy. The insured chooses the deductible at the time of purchasing the insurance coverage. For the most part, the lower the deductible, the higher the insurance premium.
Will I get the money withheld due to depreciation?
Yes. Most homeowner policies cover full replacement value. The first check the insurance company gives you is the Actual Cash Value (ACV), or what the roof is worth today with it’s useful remaining life. The money that was withheld is called the depreciation and will be paid to you in full when the work is completed and an invoice has been submitted indicating incurred costs of the completed work.
Why did my insurance company withhold depreciation?
There are two reasons that insurance companies hold some money back.

The first, is to ensure that you get the work done. Past experience has shown them that if they give the customer all the money up front, many people end up spending it on something else.

The second reason is to ensure that you pay your full deductible.

Insurance companies reason that if you are given all the money to begin with, many people would naturally try to find a contractor who would perform the job for the dollar amount in hand. By holding a retainage amount, they can adjust the amount of the final payout based on the roofing contractor’s invoice, thus assuring that the customer does pay the deductible.

What if your estimate is greater than that of my insurance company?
Usually this is because of something the insurance adjuster missed in the scope of work to be completed or something that may not have been paid properly or in full. We ensure all hail related damages will be considered for coverage by your insurance company.

We will submit what is called a “supplement” with documentation in the form of pictures, measurements and paperwork. The insurance company will review the supplement and upon approval, send a check for the additional monetary amount needed to make the repairs.

How long can I expect my roof system to last?
Most new roof systems are designed to provide a lifespan of 20-30 years. Some roof system types, such as slate, clay tile and certain metal systems, can last longer.

Actual roof system life span is determined by a number of factors, including local climatic and environmental conditions, proper building and roof system design, material quality and suitability, proper application and adequate roof maintenance.

Roofing product manufacturers offer a variety of warranties and extended warranties on their products.
